We recently completed a tune on George’s very nice ’65 Fastback with a naturally aspirated 347 with independent throttle bodies and an AEM Series 1 engine management system. George did all the electrical and mechanical work himself and we first got involved with a start-up tune to get the car running well enough for him to get the car over to the paint shop. Paint was done last week and so we did some drivability tuning done and then strapped the car onto the dyno for some numbers.
The car put a respectable 388 rear wheel horsepower and 372lb/ft of torque down on 91 octane fuel. Assuming a 15% driveline loss that calculates to 457 horsepower at the crank. George’s new combo netted him an additional 77hp at the wheel over the combination he was running last year!
Check out the pics and dyno video of this amazingly clean and well put together car.
