Just a small status update on the Fairmont project. The original Mach 1 engine was swapped out in favor of parts that’ve been collected over what seems like the past decade. An ’03 Cobra cast iron block with factory forged Cobra internals was assembled in the shop with the heads off of the old Mach 1 engine which are the same as ’03 Cobra heads. Cobra timing cover, intake manifold, intercooler, etc have all tied everything together. The supercharger is a one-off build that has a set of prototype M112 “H” high helix rotors. The rotors have 6 degrees more twist which allows a larger inlet opening due to the increase in rotor timing. The motor went in just as easily as the Mach 1 engine did and it appears as though the hood will clear. There are still some loose ends to tie up before this thing is terrorizing the streets. Other projects are preventing me to focus on this, but keep an eye on here for updates.
